Argentine lemon crop will fall in 2012

ARGENTINE lemon production for 2011/12 is expected to fall 10.7% on previous year figures to 1.25 million tonnes, according to the Argentine Citrus Federation (Federcitrus). Total lemon exports are forecast at 220 000 tonnes, compared with 223 000 tonnes in 2010/11.

In an interview with portalfruticola, Jorge Amigo, manager of Federcitrus, explained that despite the fall in production the industry was still expecting a good quality crop.
